Our environment

Our Setting

Our spacious main room is thoughtfully designed to inspire learning, curiosity, and creativity at every turn!

We understand that the early years are a vital time in a child’s development. As dedicated practitioners, we aim to provide each child with the best possible start in life. We follow the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring a high-quality learning environment that supports every child’s growth.

At Playgroup, our sessions are centred around continuous provision and the individual interests of the children. All areas of learning are available for children to explore freely, with experienced adults on hand to support and guide play when needed.

Our Daily Routine

We follow a consistent daily routine to help children feel safe, secure, and confident in their environment. Our day typically runs as follows:

  • 9:30am – Welcome Time

  • Free Play

  • 10:00am – Snack Time

  • Early Phonics

  • Tidy-Up Time

  • 11:15am – Outdoor Play

  • Story Time & Nursery Rhymes

  • 12:00pm – Lunch Time

  • Free Play

  • Tidy-Up Time

  • 2:15pm – Snack Time

  • Outdoor Play

  • 3:00–4:00pm – Home Time

During free play, children can enjoy a variety of activities including painting, colouring, messy play, ICT toys, small world play, role play, and more.

Our Outdoor Spaces

We’re incredibly fortunate to have three fantastic outdoor areas, each offering unique learning experiences:

  • The Garden: A lovely green space where children grow their own vegetables, which are later enjoyed at snack time. It also features a grassy area with a tree and a minibeast corner—perfect for exploring nature and learning about wildlife.

  • The Soft Tarmac Area: This active space includes a climbing frame, two slides, toy cars and trucks, a construction area, and a much-loved mud kitchen where children are free to get messy and creative.

  • Our New Forest Area: A recent addition to our setting, this exciting space lets children connect with nature as they explore wildlife, build dens, and engage in imaginative outdoor play.
