Meet the staff

Our Team

At Manthorpe Playgroup, we are proud to have a dedicated team of five experienced staff members and one regular volunteer.

All staff hold a clear enhanced DBS check and receive regular training in key areas, including:

Safeguarding
Health and Safety
Food Hygiene
Paediatric First Aid

We are committed to continuous professional development, keeping up to date with both online and in-person training in subjects such as maths, phonics, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Our team brings a wealth of experience to the setting, with half of the staff having over 30 years’ experience working with young children.

We are also proud to share that Jade holds a Level 6 qualification—a Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in Childcare.

Jade - Manager

I have been training and working with children since 2014 and from 2017 I became a one-to-one key person here at Manthorpe Preschool Playgroup. I currently have a Bachelor's degree with Honours (level 6) in childcare.

Shelley - Deputy Manager & SENCO

I am the newest member of the Manthorpe Preschool Playgroup team, starting in September 2023. I have worked with children since 2001 and hold a level 3 NVQ in childcare and education. I am married with two young children of my own.

Julie - Playgroup assistant

I joined Manthorpe Preschool Playgroup in 1996 as a playgroup assistant. I have previously worked voluntarily in a primary school and I trained as a secretary. I find it very rewarding working with young children.

Kumari - Playgroup assistant

I have worked at Manthorpe Preschool Playgroup since 2007. I have an NVQ Level 2 in childcare and I speak Tamil, English and Sinhalese.

Shelby - Volunteer

I am a volunteer at Manthorpe Preschool Playgroup and I have been volunteering on since September 201. I come every Thursday and I really enjoy my time and Playgroup.
